Antique Restoration
We can undertake partial or complete conservation and restoration of antiques from any period according to the requirements of our clients. As our craftsmen are qualified in woodworking skills we can carry out most repairs including inlay and veneer work, carving and wood turning.
Traditional French Polishing
As well as conserving and reviving we can finish your furniture using old and traditional techniques such as colour matching, French polishing and wax finishing or modern spray lacquering which is a highly skilled and specialised technique. We match repairs to the existing finish, the age of the piece or even to the finish of complimentary furniture.
Water Marks and Heat Stains
Other areas of our polishing service include repairs to damaged surfaces such as water marks, heat stains, scratches and dents. Using traditional techniques we can restore your damaged furniture to it’s original condition.

Spray Finishing
Spray lacquering is a highly skilled specialised technique used on most modern furniture today. Furniture damaged by wear and tear or fire and flood requiring this technique are sprayed in a separately contained area free from dust particles to ensure a smooth finish is achieved before completion of the restoration work.

Upholstery
Upholstery on sofas and chairs looking a little tired or damaged by flood or fire can be renewed by our skilled team of Upholsters after restoration works have been carried out, and where possible we will match the existing fabric if required.
Gilding
Ancient methods to conserve and repair original gilt surfaces are used and we make our own traditional gesso and bole. Old layers of paint and varnish are slowly and meticulously stripped away, very often revealing the original gold gilt underneath. Damaged or missing areas are then repaired or re-moulded by hand using traditional methods before using bole. Finally oil and/or water gilding are carried out , sometimes in 24ct and toned to match.
